Grace's Gnomes Pop-up Shop
Saturday, March 7th 10am-2pm
Grace is a 23 yr old local who has Down Syndrome. Making gnomes keeps Grace busy, allows her to use her skills, donate to charitable causes, and gives her a purpose. Come meet Grace and shop her collection of adorable handmade Gnomes during her pop-up shop.
Ca$h for Trash Event
Saturday, March 7th 9am-5pm
Earn Ca$h for Trash when you return your empty WBU seed bags on March 7th. Earn $1* in BirdBucks for every bag you bring in (up to $5 in Bird Bucks). Plus learn other ways to help our earth by living more sustainaly. *No actual cash is given during the Ca$h for Trash event. "Ca$h" refers to dollar valued Bird Buck coupons that can be redeemed for in-store purchases.* (Please return empty seed bags turned inside out and clean of any seed debris inside).
WBU March Bird Outing
Monday, March 9th 9AM @Rock Run Preserve- Black Rd Access
Join us for a March Bird Outing in a local preserve! Meet us in the parking circle at 9AM. We will be on the lookout for resident birds, winter visitors, and maybe even some early spring visitors. Don't forget to bring your optics and to dress for the weather. This outing is ideal for bird enthusiasts of all ages and experience levels. (Call the store for more details)
Wings & Talons: Live Bird of Prey Program
Saturday, March 14th 11am-2pm
Get ready for an unforgettable experience at our Wings & Talons Live Bird of Prey Program! Join us in-store as Wings & Talons brings some of their incredible ambassador birds for a special educational event. You'll get the rare opportunity to see these majestic raptors up close, learn about their unique adaptations, and hear fascinating stories about each bird's journey. It's a fun and inspiring way to connect with nature- perfect for bird lovers of all ages! We will also be hosting a donation collection for Wings & Talons (More info to come!)
In-Store Presenetation: "Attracting Goldfinches to Your Yard"

American Goldfinches are some of the most joyful birds that visit feeders. Join us for an engaging presentation and educational presentation to learn how to attract and keep Goldfinches coming all year long! The experts at WBU will take you on a deep dive into the lives of Goldfinches and the different foods and feeders that can help you attract them to your yard. All are welcome to attend. It is recommended to call the store to reserve a seat (815-744-3800)
WBU Feeder Swap Event
Friday & Saturday, March 27th & 28th 9am-5pm
Bring us your old, tired, and used feeders! In exchange for your old feeder, we will give you 20% OFF any new feeder*! Don't have a feeder to exchange? You can still receive 15% OFF any new feeder without an exchange. We will clean up and repair the exchanged feeders and donate them to local schools, libraries, nursing homes, and other organizations. Giving your old feeders a new life and providing others with joy of watching birds. *Valid only on March 27th or 28th. Only valid in-store.*

2026 Be a Trailblazer Challenge
Join the "Be a Trailblazer" digital scavenger hunt that will have you adventuring to and through the Will County preservbes at your own pace and on your own schedule throughout 2025. Get started by downloading the Goosechase app to your smartphone and joining the "Be a Trailblazer" experience. Once your in, visit the preserves to complete the dozens of challenges that will have you snapping pics in nature and checking in at various spots in the preserves. More than $10,000 in prizes will be up for grabs, so start today- don't delay! Missions will be reasleased for Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. For more info click HERE!
