Saturday, September 6th (11-3PM)  - *Craft may contain peanuts and tree nuts. Children must be accompanied by an adult.*

Join us for a fun Art in the Garden: Pinecone Bird Feeder Craft and create a nature-friendly treat for your backyard birds.  Using pinecones, Bark Butter, and WBU seed, you'll create your own feeder that's as fun to make as it for birds to enjoy.  All supplies are provided- just bring your creativity and love for wildlife!

Get up close and personal with some of nature's most captivating creatures during our Live Reptile Meet & Greet.  Meet and even touch live reptiles such as toads, lizards, snakes, skins, and more while learning fascinating fun facts from the experts at Crosstown Exotics.  This hands-on experience is perfect for all ages and offers a unique opportunity to discover the incredible world of reptiles up close.

Fall Native Plant Sale with Good Steward Ecoscapes

Discover the beautfy and benefits of native landscaping at our Fall Native Plant sale!  Live Bald Eagle Program

Saturday, September 20th - (1PM) @ Pitcher Park Nature Center *Space is limited for the saftey of the animals & guests.  First come-first served. Room will open at 12:30pm*

Join us for an incredible afternoon as Hoo Haven brings one of their majestic ambassador eagles to the Piltcher Park Nature Center.  See a live Bald Eagle just feet away, discover fun facts about bald eagles, other birds of prey, and local wildlife, and learn about Hoo Haven's incredible work rescuing and rehabilitating native animals. Birds in Art: Dottie's Art Studio Workshop

Are you a bird watcher? Why not try Avian Artistry? Here's your chance to get in touch with your inner artist! WBU Joliet and Dottie's Art Studio combine forces to bring a never-before opportunity! This little grouping of classes is a perfect opportunity for beginner and intermediate artists to turn their passion for birds into masterpieces! These classes will begin with pencile sketching, then inks, watercolor, and lastly acrylic painting.  Each participant will leave each class with their own masterpiece.

Fall Bird Feeder Cleaning Event

Saturday, October 4th (10-3PM) *Suggested $3 donation per feeder will go to the Will County Chapter of the Illinois Audubon Society for further their conservation efforts*

We're cleaning up....bird feeders that is! The Will Co. Chapter of IAS will be on site to help us get those feeders squeaky clean.  Come get your feeders cleaned, learn how beneficial it is to the birds, and how easy it is to do at home. Chat with Audubon members and learn about their field trips, programs, and other ways to get involved with your local birding community.

2025 Be a Trailblazer Challenge

Join the "Be a Trailblazer" digital scavenger hunt that will have you adventuring to and through the Will County preservbes at your own pace and on your own schedule throughout 2025.  Get started by downloading the Goosechase app to your smartphone and joining the "Be a Trailblazer" experience.  Once your in, visit the preserves to complete the dozens of challenges that will have you snapping pics in nature and checking in at various spots in the preserves.  More than $10,000 in prizes will be up for grabs, so start today- don't delay!
