Monday, December 15th (9:30AM) @ Rock Run -Black Rd Access - CANCELED

Looking to get outside with other nature-loving bird watching people?! Come join us for a WBU Bird Outing. We will be on the lookout for year round resident & winter visitor birds. Meet at the Rock Run Preserve- Black Rd. Access in the parking circle at 9:30AM. There will be a short preview on how to use optics, then we will be on our way. This outing is great for birders of all ages and experiences. Dress for the weather- this outing is rain or shine! It is recommended to bring your own optics. If you don't have any, check out the selection at the WBU Joliet store! Get the kids, grandma/grandpa, your bestie, or a group of friends together to experience a bird outlng in our local community.

Join us for a cozy and festive celebration during our Christmas Cardinal Cocoa Party at Wild Birds Unlimited Joliet. Warm up with our hot cocoa bar featuring bird-friendly products, enjoy fresh cookies, and soak in the spirit of the season. Cast your vote for your favorite Festive Flocker—our holiday-dressed team members are competing for the crown, and one lucky voter will both take home a fun prize. In-Store Presentation “Owls - Natures Nocturnal Neighbors"

Join us in-store for an engaging, close-up look at one of the most captivating creatures of the night—owls! During this presentation, you’ll discover fascinating facts about the owl species that call our area home, from their incredible hunting skills and silent flight to the unique behaviors that make them such mysterious nighttime companions. We’ll also explore how you can welcome these remarkable birds right into your own backyard. Learn about the types of owl nest boxes that work best in our region, where to place them, and how to create a habitat that supports these valuable predators.

Pinecone Bird Feeder Craft

Join us for a fun Pinecone Bird Feeder Craft and create a nature-friendly treat for your backyard birds. Using pinecones, Bark Butter®, and bird seed, you'll create your own feeder that's as fun to make as it is for birds to enjoy. All supplies are provided- just bring your creativity and love for wildlife! *Note: This craft may contain peanuts and tree nuts*. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

2025 Be a Trailblazer Challenge

Join the "Be a Trailblazer" digital scavenger hunt that will have you adventuring to and through the Will County preservbes at your own pace and on your own schedule throughout 2025. Get started by downloading the Goosechase app to your smartphone and joining the "Be a Trailblazer" experience. Once your in, visit the preserves to complete the dozens of challenges that will have you snapping pics in nature and checking in at various spots in the preserves. More than $10,000 in prizes will be up for grabs, so start today- don't delay! Missions will be reasleased for Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. For more info click HERE!
