Join us as our Team Member Chris Ill shares his stories of the ways he picks up on nature around him, how he photographs the things he sees using his own cell phone, and how he identifies the raptors he sees everywhere. Chris is our resident raptor expert!

Join us for an in-person presentation to learn how you can make a difference every day when you provide a consistent and reliable source of quality food for your birds in a responsible manner. This presentation will take you on a deep dive into scientific studies and research that shows how you can make a meaningful impact on the health and daily lives of your feathered friends. WBU Bird Outing, Monday, September 14th 9:30AM @Rock Run Preserve- Black Rd. Access
Join us for an September Bird Outing in a local preserve! Meet us in the parking circle at 9:30AM. We will be on the lookout for resident birds and early fall migrators. Fall Bird Feeder Cleaning Event, Saturday September 19th 10AM-3PM
We are cleaning up...bird feeders that is! The Will Co. Audubon Society will be on site to help us get those feeders squeaky clean. Come get your feeders cleaned and learn how beneficial and easy it is to do at home. You are welcome to stay at the store while your feeders are being cleaned or we can give you a call when they are ready for pick-up. Suggested $3 donation per feeder will go to the Will Co. Crosstown Exotics Reptile Meet & Greet, Sunday September 20th 1PM-3PM
Get up close and personal with some of nature’s most captivating creatures at our Crosstown Exotics: Live Reptile Show! Meet and even touch live reptiles such as toads, lizards, snakes, skinks, and more while learning fascinating facts from the experts at Crosstown Exotics. This hands-on experience is perfect for all ages and offers a unique opportunity to discover the incredible world of reptiles up close. This is a free educational reptile experience open to all.

Join us for an unforgettable afternoon as Hoo Haven brings one of their majestic ambassador eagles to WBU Joliet. See a live Bald Eagle just feet away, discover fascinating facts about Eagles, birds of prey , and local wildlife, and learn about Hoo Haven's incredible work rescuing and rehabilitating native animals. 2026 Be a Trailblazer Challenge
Join the "Be a Trailblazer" digital scavenger hunt that will have you adventuring to and through the Will County preservbes at your own pace and on your own schedule throughout 2025. Get started by downloading the Goosechase app to your smartphone and joining the "Be a Trailblazer" experience. Once your in, visit the preserves to complete the dozens of challenges that will have you snapping pics in nature and checking in at various spots in the preserves.
