Join us for an unforgettable afternoon as Hoo Haven brings one of their majestic ambassador eagles to WBU Joliet. See a live Bald Eagle just feet away, discover fascinating facts about Eagles, birds of prey , and local wildlife, and learn about Hoo Haven's incredible work rescuing and rehabilitating native animals. This is a Free program for all.
In-Store Presentation: "Why Bird Feeding Matters", Saturday October 10th 11AM (Rescheduled Date)
Join us for an in-person presentation to learn how you can make a difference every day when you provide a consistent and reliable source of quality food for your birds in a responsible manner. This presentation will take you on a deep dive into scientific studies and research that shows how you can make a meaningful impact on the health and daily lives of your feathered friends. This presentation is perfect for all bird enthusiasts. Seating is limited. Please call the store to reserve a seat!
Incredible Bats In-Store Live Animal Program , Saturday October 17th 11-12:30PM
Come and "creep out" with us by getting up close and personal with a bat, a rat, a tarantula, and some snakes! Celebrate the Halloween season by joining us as our friends at Incredible Bats brings us some fun creatures to learn about . Free Event all are welcome!
WBU Birdability Bird Outing, Monday, October 19th 9:30AM @Rock Run Preserve- Black Rd. Access
Join us for an October Bird Outing in a local preserve in honor of Birdability Week! Meet us in the parking circle at 9:30am. We will be on the lookout for resident birds and fall visitors. This outing is ideal for bird enthusiasts of all ages, experience levels, and abilities. Outing will be conducted on a smoothly paved paths under a mile in length with several opportunities to sit and rest. Descriptions for all the birds seen will be shared for any with limited vision. Game Night at WBU Joliet: Audubon Bird Spotting-Opoly, Friday October 23rd 6:30PM
Come join us for a fun night where we will play a Monopoly like game created with bird themed components, created by the Audubon Society. Snaks and beverages will be provided. FREE event. You must call to reserve a seat by Wednesday 10/21/26 (815-744-3800)
The Great Candy Count Saturday October 24th - October 31st (IN-STORE ONLY)
Guess the number of candies in the special feeder to win the feeder with all the candy inside. Closest number wins. Drawing will take place if multiple people guess correctly. No purchase nesessary to participate. (One entry per person, per day).
Pinecone Feeder Activity Drop In, Saturday October 31st 10AM-2PM
Stop on by anytime between 10am and 2pm to make your own Pinecone Bird Feeder. All ingreidents and supplies are provided free of charge. Help yourself to a candy treat while you make your own feeder. Fun for adults and children alike. (*Craft may include products made with peanuts and or tree nuts). All children must be accompanied by an adult.

2026 Be a Trailblazer Challenge
Join the "Be a Trailblazer" digital scavenger hunt that will have you adventuring to and through the Will County preservbes at your own pace and on your own schedule throughout 2025. Get started by downloading the Goosechase app to your smartphone and joining the "Be a Trailblazer" experience. Once your in, visit the preserves to complete the dozens of challenges that will have you snapping pics in nature and checking in at various spots in the preserves. More than $10,000 in prizes will be up for grabs, so start today- don't delay! Missions will be reasleased for Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. For more info click HERE!
